I have four spread sheets that are all linked into a single spreadsheet as
the master. Three of these are used just for data and are updated weekly. the
fourth retieves the data and displays the information that is requested.

the problem is that when opening the file is says that it cannot update all
links, then you are required to update valeues and select the pathway to te
file...

I have found that even when you link these files together the pathway is
changed with additional information for example;

=HLOOKUP(W29,'C:\Documents and Settings\Compaq_Administrator\Local
Settings\Temporary Internet
Files\Content.IE5\CCAYKJJK\[F08DDB.xls]Arapahoe'!$H$463:$T$800,6)

How can I avoid this?

How can I have the file update links without having to select the pathway
each time
