Please help-
My DFM is empty; but all my outlook files are ok; When i click on DFM i get
an error message: "There was an error locating one of the files to complete
this operation. It may have been deleted. " I then close the error message
and the window opens up where i normally see the little outlook file icon and
copy it to my desktop for back up on an external drive. But the window (name
of window is outlook data files) is empty!!

Again, all my data (notes, clalendar, contacts and tasks) are there and I
can add and delete data from these files as needed. (I don't use the mail
function of Outlook). I have no viruses and system is performing fine. Other
than this issue, which is critical for backing up files- my Outlook seems to
be "fine".
Thank you!

What Operating System?
Has it ever worked?
Have you tried a Detect and Repair from the Help Menu?

Hi FH,
operating system= windows xp;
dfm has always been there for me to copy as backup;
system is fine, no viruses, performing well.
Used detect and repair - was no help and no indication anything is wrong.
outlook working as usual- fine.
the outlook file is fine under document and settings local apps so i just
copied from there for a backup.
bottom line is that the disappearance of the DMF from outlook is a concern.
whats going on?
mk

Ok, normally I would have suggested this before Detect and Repair, but, have
you tried creating a new Outlook profile? Use the same PST, just create a
new profile and use that one and see if you get the error.

Well, if I knew that, we wouldn't still be talking, it would have been
fixed. =)
