"A data file did not close properly" - Please help make this stop

      18th Oct 2007
I get this error after opening up Outlook 2007 every time I reboot or turn on
my pc. I tried...

Creating a new pst file
Reinstalling Outlook
Scanpst

But no matter what, I still get the error.

Do you have any software running that would interact with the PST file such
as Fax software, synch software (for a handheld), any Add Ins or Coms?

Also check anti-virus versions --- McAfee for one had an issue that was
addressed by a service pack (sorry - lost the link I had). The basic idea
from McAfee was that the AV engine was holding the mail file [PST/OST] open
and Outlook was terminating before the AV engine released it, leaving it
marked as being closed similar to a closure from a program crash.

I have Outlook 2007 on a 2 year old laptop and it started happening
every other time. I have a new laptop running Vista Ultimate (with
the same mailbox hosted off of Exchange as well) and it still pops up.

I've run the diagnostics and it says it can't find a problem. Mailbox
size is 900meg.

I also have clients (that are light mail users) that run 2007 and they
have started complaining.


I think there is an issue out there. Anyone have any dirt on it?

No add In's/coms and a fresh install. Just talking to Exchange 2003
and in cached mode.
