data file did not close properly last time outlook was used

I get the above error message each and everytime I open outlook. Apparently,
when I exit out, things are not shutting down properly. Why is this
happening? When I start, it also appears that a reindexing is happening,
too. Any thoughts?

After you close Outlook, check with Task Manager (Properties tab) if
Outlook was indeed completely closed. If not, that would indicate that
an add-on may prevent Outlook from closing.

Start Outlook in Safe Mode (Start -> Run -> outlook /safe) and see if
you can close it normally after that.
