I have recently upgraded to outlook 2007 from 2002, I suspect there is a
conflict in the pst file the I brought across. Each time I open outlook I get
a message stating a data file did not close properly and that outlook needs
to check the file.

The HDD run for about a 2-3 minutes slowing CPU at the exact time I want to
open other applications.

Is there a way I can repair the problem please?

After you close Outlook, check Windows Task Manager to see if the OUTLOOK.EXE
process is still running. Something like a 3rd party addin might be keeping
it open in the background. E-mail scanning programs or fax software are
typical causes of this.

Thanks Jocelyn,
I checked it and nothing was open, I then re started outlook but it didn't
have the data problem this time, so i'll keep an eye on task manager after
each close for a while.

Thanks SS
