"Data Execution Prevntion" and "svchost.exe - application error"

Running Windows XP, SP3, all up to date:
Soon after starting system, see first one and then a second error message,
as follows:

can anyone provide solution ?



1st error:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: Service Control Manager
Event Category: None
Event ID: 7034
Date: 26 Jul 08
Time: 17:29
User: N/A
Computer: BETELGEUSE-06
Description:
The Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) service terminated unexpectedly. It has
done this 1 time(s).

2nd error
Event Type: Error
Event Source: DCOM
Event Category: None
Event ID: 10010
Date: 26 Jul 08
Time: 17:32
User: BETELGEUSE-06\Alastair McLachlan
Computer: BETELGEUSE-06
Description:
The server {A1F4E726-8CF1-11D1-BF92-0060081ED811} did not register with DCOM
within the required timeout.

If I close either of these error messages, they re-appear, almost
immediately

I have the exact same error. I think it has something to do with Adobe Image
Acquisition program. Let me know if you find anything.
