Hi

One of my genealogy friends in New Zealand is cannot read her UK genealogical data disk on her PC.

Any ideas please?

I assume it has something to do with regional differences? - USA region 1, UK 2 & NZ 4 etc.

Is it a data disk, or DVD?

Well, I wouldn't put it passed 'em to "doctor" the CD/DVD for specific regions ... they is a funny lot them Genies.

Two 'solutions' you can try ...

Make the CD/DVD drive region free, this requires some work and can/will invalidate any warranty ... it is not an illegal process.

or

Use software, like AnyDVD, to 'cure' the problem on the spot.

I'm not grouchy by nature, it takes constant effort.
