Data in a Calender layout view

I'm being asked to take a block of data and summarize it by orders and by
ship date and then put that summarized data into a calender view. Basically
each day on the calender needs to show the order #'s that are to ship on that
day. Is there a way to do this in a somewhat automated way in Excel? If
not, does anyone know of any other MS program that I might try.
