Does anyone know why when I use the equal (=) sign to get data from another
cell in another worksheet it just gives me the cell name: i.e. =targetdateC2.
and not the actual data which is 2x. I tried manually calculating to no
extent.

Thanks
Frank

Is the cell formatted as Text? Try changing the format to General.

If you are manually entering the formula you need the ! inserted.

=targetdate!C2

If you are letting Excel enter the reference it should be no problem.

Enter the = sign then switch to other sheet, select C2 and hit ENTER key
