Hi,
I had a question regarding a DAP on the Pocket PC (PPC). We have an
equipment database that we are going to incorporate with our barcode
scanners. We built a snazzy interface with Access that we're trying to
implement with our PPCs. Unfortunately we get an error on the PPC that
Internet Explorer 5.0 or greater is required. I tried to work around this by
modifying the registry, but that didn't work.

Here's a pic of what our interface looks like.

We also modifying our spreadsheet's column names to be exported into Pocket
Contacts. This worked but doesn't give us enough data slots and its kind of
annoying to see the "Work Address, Home Address, Email, Pager, etc" labels
next to our data.

Any suggustions?

PocketIE is a slimmed down version of IE 5.0. The two are NOT the same.
To my knowledge, PocketIE is essentially a means to view HTML, the
snazzy features of the Desktop version - VBScript, JavaScript, etc. -
simply aren't available. If you need to access to you data, you'll need
to use a third party solution. I recommend Sprint DB Pro.

I think Opera has full DOM compatibility etc doesn't it? Plus an effectivbe
way of getting whole web pages onto a pda screen.

Its not an issue with the DESKTOP version. The issue is with the pocket
versions. I've only used Desktop Opera so I can't speak as to the pocket
version (Would that be just an Aria?) or even if a Pocket Version of
Opera Exists.

Has done for a long time, ever since Psion Series 5 at least. It's not a
pocket version; my understanding is that it's pretty much the same as the
big screen version but with added functionality like rearranging pages to
fit on small form factors.
