Hi, does anybody know why (and how to fix it) if while
having the laptop connected to a projector Power Point
looks so dark that it's almost not visible, but all the
other applications (word, email...) work fine.
Thanks,
Max

Max,

More info, please. What version of PowerPoint, and does it happen as soon as
you switch from one of the other applications to PowerPoint? Or does it
happen when in slideshow mode?

Glen - The laptop was runing windows 2000 with office 2000
(all of the latest service packs installed).
What happens is that as soon as you switch from any
application (desktop included) to Powerpoint (slideshow
and normal mode) the screen turns very dark, you can
bearly see what is in the slide.
I've seen it happen in two different machines.
The weird thing is that it's only with PowerPoint....the
thins that I've already tried are:
change resolution and number of colors.
from the slide show menu I've also changed some of the set
up show options (like which monitor to show on)

Max,

Just when I think I've heard it all, a totally new problem <g>.

I have no idea, other than maybe video drivers? Or something to do with
Direct Draw hardware acceleration. But that should only affect slideshows
set up for it. Dose it help if you adjust the screen by using the keyboard
functions? My other thought was about multiple monitors, but it seems you
have looked at that angle.

Anyone else have any ideas???

Phil - Did you have this problem with every application or
just with PowerPoint?
I would agree that it could be something between the
laptop and the projector, but I would assume that it would
affect everything that I project, not only powerpoint.
Over here it only happens with PowerPoint....I'm getting
the problem laptop next week and will have a chance to
play with it.

Thanks,
Max

Just PowerPoint - but that was all we put up on screen anyway, so who
knows?

Logic dictates that if it does it in ppt, it should do it in word;
explorer; excel; etc... but logic & gfx exist in different planes of
reality - although sometimes they intersect...

Btw - have you updated DirectX at all?
