Dark Monitor and 5 beeps

When I boot up the monitor stays dark and the CPU beeps 5
times. Someone suggested that the PC is not recognizing
the video card. Would appreciate some help with this.
(OS is Windows ME)

Check the mb manual for the beep code.

This is a Windows 2000 newsgroup but the OS is immaterial as you have
dead hardware. BIOS "beep codes" are vendor specific so visiting a
"BIOS" site would be the place to start. The BIOS vendor name should be
on a sticker on the BIOS chip. (yes you have to take the cover off)

know for sure it not a bad moitor.
video card may be the problem if monitor is working.
