I'm going to set up a network in my basement for my 2 computers and my
girlfriend's 2 computers. I'd like to make it a wireless net, but she's
fearful of the radio waves from the wireless- not that she's familiar with
the technology, only having read about the potential dangers from cell
phones. So, is there any danger from wireless? Of course any such danger if
there was any would be statistical- possibly raising the change of whatever
by some small amount- which is probably the case with cell phones. Just how
strong are cell phone signals compared to a home wireless net? Are they
using similar frequencies?

I'd be far more concerned about the security dangers of unsecured
wireless. Make sure you secure it properly.

There was an article on the net yesterday or so that stated you get
more exposure in 20 minutes on a cell phone than you get from several
months near an access point. Google it you may find the article.

Also Access Points emit non-ionizing radiation just like cell phones
and the expert say non ionizing radiation 'at this time has not been
PROVEN to be harmful'. But just wait in years they will probably
say it is harmful to certain poeple who are predisposed to the effects
of this radiation.
