If I boot my xp pro pc with a disk in either my
d: (cd-rw) or e: (dvd-rom) it works fine.
If i then remove the disk and change or re-insert it the
drive doesn't work anymore.
The mesage i get is
DorE is inaccessible. Incorrect funtion.
Anyone got any ideas before i reboot with a sledgehammer?

Are you using any other program besides
XP's builtin cd burning Vic?

ie: CD Creator/INCD? (part of Nero)?

XP's one isnt the greatest thing to use.
