Hello I am having trouble installing a wireless pcmcia network adaptor
model
D-link DWL-650+ on XP Pro on a NEC M320 LAPTOP.

When I try to install the driver while I have inserted the PCMCIA card, at
the end of the driver installation XP freezes, and
the only thing I can do is RESET the laptop, then XP loads up to the the
boot screen
with the XP logo on it, and freezes. I have to RESET and go into safe mode
and do a system
restore in order for me to get into windows again. The same card is working
on another
laptop that has windows 98. I have tried all the various versions of the
drivers the one that came on the CD and the latest one on the dlink.com
site.
This product says its compatible with windows XP, so my conclusion is that
there is some
kind of hardware conflict with the pcmcia card and the laptop. On the
support of the network card I
see that some laptops have problems with this card.

The PCMCIA slot is 32 bit compilant

How can I resolve this issue?

This is very strange and dissapointing... please any assistance would be
usefull

Thanks in advance

Try installing the drivers BEFORE installing the card, per the DLink
instructions, then shut down and install the card.
