D-Link and Linksys

Hi, I recently had problems with my D-Link router. I had
to unplug it, and plug it back in every morning, in order
to connect to the internet. I bought a Linksys router, and
tried it, but it wouldn`t work. I even had a technician
friend from the IT department at work to configure it. He
got both pcs working, but the connection only lasted for
15 minutes. I have called my ISP and told them about it,
and they insist everything is fine on their end, and with
my modem. It DOES work when I connect direct.
Is there a virus out there that messes up routers? I use
Norton 2003, and all my virus definitions are current, and
have done frequent scans. My pc doesn`t seem to have any
of the known viruses. Why can`t I get a router to work??
Any suggestions as to why, and how to fix it would be
appreciated.
Thanks,
Gary

Try cloning the MAC address of the WAN side of the old router to the WAN
side of the Linksys. Power off both the router and modem. Then turn on the
modem followed by the router.
