Just a thought to try first:
1) If you have TweakUI installed on your Control Panel,
open the My Computer tab and see if your drive is
currently checkmarked.
2) Then take a look at the disk Manager by typing
diskmngt.msc in the Start>Run box. See if you have a
conflict there or try to reorganize the dirve
letters/types and reboot.
3) I've had this happen to me before and if the icon
displays itself in Windows Explorer, but not in My
Computer, you should try seeing if you have a resource
conflict in your Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device
Manager.
4) Last. If you did a firmware update on your drive, you
may have damaged the controller. Some manufacturers offer
firmware updates listed on their web sites alongside with
the software bundle/driver updates without adequate
warnings. Have the manufacturer send you a replacement if
you did that.
Good luck!
