Cutting and Pasting causes original file to hang & no new file

When I click and drag, or cut and paste, the new file is not recognized and
there's nothing there, and the original file locks and can't delete it, open
it, use it, nothing. The error when trying to delete the original file is
that its in use by another program or right protected which is not the case,
because it still says it after reboots and everything. I run a RAID system,
but Dell swears this is a Windows issue. The file size still shows it as
there, but nothing works. Any ideas or direction any of you can offer?
