How can I get rid of the decorative column in the right-
hand pane of Windows Explorer (the area on the left that
contains the pie chart and so on). This takes up valuable
real estate and causes me to constantly scroll to the
important part of the information.

Every person I know who uses this platform wants the
decorations omitted.

Tools|Folder Options and turn off "Web View"
