I have the Mark icon (the one with eyeglasses on it) moved to my main
Mail Tool bar. When I click on the little down arrow to the right of it
I get 5 choices.
1. As Read
2. Thread as Read
3. As read by date
4. All Read
5. Flag

The default is 1. As Read What I want to do is change the default to
2. Thread as read. When I am reading through a newsgroup and the
thread is off topic or just flames, I want to click on the main icon to
mark that thread as read and go to the next thread. Now I have to make
extra clicks. The arrow first, then Thread as read.

Does anyone know how to do this.

I have googled already, thanks.
I am also checking on Mozilla's forums, thanks.

I don't know how to do it with mouse clicks, but it's easy with the
keyboard. "R" is Mark Thread as Read. (I'm running tbird-linux, but I
presume windows works the same way.)
