with a folder open i
click Tools > Folder Options > File Types
select an entry such a File Folder
click the Advanced > Change Icon buttons,
specify a kick ass, 32x32, icon,
click OK > OK > OK,
run regsvr32 /i shell32 to recover from the bug in Edit File Type dialog
restart explorer and
nothing happens.

in the Edit File Type dialog the icons for File Folder is the one i
selected but that's the only place it's changed.
when i change icons for files such as txt or url it works fine.

how do i change the icon for open and closed folders, my documents, my
videos, network neighborhood, program group, hard/cd/floppy drive,
control panel and desktop?
