Is there a way to add a hyperlink to other places (which
will allow me to get to a set of folders I frequently
use)?

Sorry, you cannot add shortcuts to the Common Tasks pane, while you can just rename the entries there.

In the registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\MUICache
Rename the appropriate item in the right-pane.
