Customizing keyboard - inverting shift behavior for a given key

Hello,

I could not find any program or article about this seemingly simple
task.

On my (Italian) keyboard, the same key is used to type both dash ( - )
and underscore ( _ ). If you press that key without shift, you type a
dash. If you press it with shift, you tyupe and underscore. I would
like to invert this behavior. That is, I would like to type an
underscore when I press that key without shift, and a dash when I
press that key with shift. How can I do that? Any key remapping
program I tried (e.g. SharpKEys) can only invert two physical keys,
which is not what I need.

Thanks for any help.

Regards,

Maurizio

You can do this with the Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator
(http://www.microsoft.com/globaldev/tools/msklc.mspx). It
takes a little practice to use the program successfully, so post
again if you do not succeed at first.

A brief detail on the same. Try only if you are an advance user otherwise use
the program mention in the site and as directed by Pegasus.

Thank you very much

I've managed to do it with the Layout Creator. It produced some dlls
and a setup program. A bit involved, but it works, and I only have to
do it once.

Thank you very much to RajKohli as well.

Cheers
Maurizio
