At the company I work at, we produce proposals that have a certain format.
For the document in office, we have a template that has the short codes for
the format of the body, headings, font, etc. But when we send it to someone
out of office, the short codes do not hold (meaning they are not able to use
those short codes in the document). I was wondering how I could create a
template with the desired format that would hold when we send it out of
office so that other people can create the same document with those short
codes.

Short codes? I guess you mean autotext entries, and I suppose that this is
not Word 2007? Save them in the document template or move them there from
normal.dot using the Organizer (Alt + F8 > Organizer)..

Hi, thanks for responding. I am using Word 2003. We have a template where
we have assigned "short codes" (not sure what else to call them) where for
example, if you press control "T" then it will make the body text justified
with certain spacing. We already have them assigned, but we have people that
work out of office on these documents. So we wanted to send them a template
that will already have these short codes built in for them. When we send the
one we already have, these shortcuts don't hold on the transfer. Is there a
way to lock them?

Thanks again!

You are describing keyboard shortcuts, which can also be stored in the
template itself (by default they are stored in Normal.dot).
