Is there a way to customize a right click menu? For example, when I click on
open and then right click on a file I'd like to move the Delete menu item
away from the Rename menu item. Is there a way to accomplish this?

Richard,

If you're a programmer you can subclass the context menu to do that but
otherwise no

You can customize the "upper portion" of the [right-click] menu (the
part above the 'Send To...' sub-menu).

You can do that in various ways - by using the 'File Types' page of the
'Folder Options' control panel and by direct editing of the registry.

But as "SPAMCOP User" says in his post, unless you're a programmer and
are prepared to 'hack' into Windows system files, you cannot change the
lower half of the menu.

ShellToys can do that, and a hell of a lot more.

Worth a look at filemenu tools by lopesoft, not sure if this will suit your
requirements.

Filemenu Tools will not suite this purpose.
