I currently use a tool called tclock2 to do this for me, but it takes
up processing power, to do that.

But if i can figure out how to do it via registry, then no additional
ongoing drain on cpu power.

Any thoughts or ideas?

What tclock2 features am i referring to?

1. taskbar has hidden grippers
2. taskbar buttons on are depressed instead of raised
3. system tray is flat as well

Also i'd love the ability to have the taskbar have a transparent
background instead of the constant old-fashioned gray.

hope to find some answers or at least a pointer in the right
direction..

The features you want are provided by the executable and DLL and
can't be duplicated via registry tweaks. I run tclock.exe /
tclockex.dll here (different features) and they are the providers of
the function/appearance over and above that provided by explorer.exe.

There may exist alternative software of course, but something has to
actually do what you you want.

Okay, i guess so..

Is there going to be another version of tclock2, or perhaps a tclock3?

I have no idea. I don't even use those. Perhaps there is a supoort
forum or author email available...
