Fairly new to Powerpoint, but have mangaed to put together a small slide show
which will be run interactively on a kiosk. The only task I haven't been able
to accomplish is I want to be able to install an action button that will
return the viewer to the last slide viewed MINUS 1. In other words the slide
before the last slide viewed. Example: Let's say I have 5 slides. The viewer
views slide#1 and clicks an action button which takes him to slide #3. From
slide #3 the viewer clicks another action button taking them to slide #5. On
slide #5 I would like there to be an action button that when clicked will
take the viewer to slide #2. (The last slide viewed (#3) minus 1). Is this
possible? Would appreciate anyone's help. Thanks!

This kind of thing is not available directly. You would need to develop VBA
code for it within your presentation or in an add-in.
