Do you mean that you could use tools|Customize|commands tab and select the
custom toolbars and turn them back on, or were they actually missing from this
list of commandbars.
If they were really missing...
After I customize my toolbar (*.xlb), I back it up into a separate folder.
Start excel and make a minor change to the toolbar, then close excel.
Now windows start button|Find (search)
look for *.xlb
Note the date/time stamps and pick out the most current (the one you just did
that minor update to).
Then copy that to a different folder.
If the toolbar goes away, just close excel and copy the backup file into its
proper place.
And corruption of this toolbar file can often cause problems with excel
(especially opening and sometimes closing). By having a backedup version, you
can always replace the bad one with a copy of the good one.
