I have a problem where outlook in 2003 has stopped playing my custom sound
for new mail notification and instead just plays a beep sound. The sound is
still set up correctly and working ok when you test it but just not when new
mail is received. I have just upgraded to 2007 and the problem still exists.
Can anyone help ?

Hi - I was having the same issue today and it seems that Outlook will only
play .wav files. My file was corrupt, so I re-recorded the sound and it now
works! - Hope this helps
