Custom shortcut won't launch more than one instance of the sameapplication

Hello everybody.

I have been using Windows XP during several years, and was used to the
following feature :
- I have created on the desktop a link toward notepad.exe
- I have specified ALT + CTRL + N as shortcut for this link

So, I was used to, each time I press ALT + CRL + N, have a new
instance of notepad.exe being started.

But, recently (I guess my PC has been updated), this behaviour as
changed :
- the first time I press ALT + CTRL + N, one instance of notepad.exe
is started
- the other times I press ALT + CTRL + N, the same instance is re-
activated

Has there been an update about this subject ?

Is there any way to come back to the previous behaviour (editing the
registery for example) ?
