I need to handle the custom number format in excel programming and as such i
need any generalized way to handle all types of custom format

Can any one suggest me on this?

Hi

Basically i will get excel sheets which contains different custom number
formats and while trying to read data using macro, they are getting changed

For Example if in a cell i give value ="2008" and set custom number format
to yyyy, after reading the data from macro, its value is getting changed to
1905

Similar observations found with some other type of custom number formats

I need a generalized way by which i can handle this issue

2008 alone is interpreted by Excel as a number.

The serial number 2008 is June 30, 1905
