Custom Menus Problem

I created my own drop down menus and menu bar which have been working fine
until recently. Now when I open the application the menu bar is there but the
drop down options have disppeared. If I open the application using the shift
and compact and repair the db the drop downs reappear. As soon as I close
down and re-open the application normally they have gone again.
Any ideas what has happened and how I can put it right?

I am not sure what you meant by "drop-dowm Menus"? Are these drop-downs on a
CommandBar?

My suggestion is to check the Startup Options available from the Menu Tools
/ Startup ...

I mean the options you see when you click on a toolbar.eg on the ones I have
created, looking at the main toolbar as an example, the equivalent of File,
Edit, View etc are visible but the options unnderneath (Save, Save as, Print,
Copy Cut etc) are not visible until I compact and repair.

Not sure but try:

* Use the Menu command Tools / Startup ... and ensure that the Menu Bar
combo is set to "(default)" and Allow Full Menus option is checked.

* Hold the Shift key down while you open the database (to bypass the Startup
options).

Tried your suggestion but still can only get the full custom menus after
compact and repair and then they are gone when I open again.
Any other ideas?

I haven't seen this ...

Have you searched Microsoft Knowledge Base?

Try creating a new blank database and then copy all objects from your
existing database and see if the new datatabase has the same problem ...
