I want to create a custom link bar and (with no page highlighted) when I
click in the open space on the conent pane in nav view...the button is grayed
out. What have I done wrong>

It sounds as if you are trying to do this action in FP Explorer view, you
should open the page you want to add it to, place the cursor where you want
the link bar situated and then proceed.

I am. I want the custom link bar to be' free standing' in nav view. My
instructions tell me to right click in the open space of the nav view content
pane. I am so confused.
