Good Afternoon All,

Please excuse my ignorance, as I am a System Administrator, rather than a
developer, but I was hoping someone could help me with a security question.

We have installed on our PCs versions 1.0.3705, 1.1.4322 and 2.0.50727 of
the .NET Framework.

One of our third party applications installs a further copy of version
1.1.4322 in a subdirectory of its Progam Files folder.

My first thought is that Microsoft Update will not detect this instance and
therefore it won't be patched if there was a security update. There maybe
other security considerations as well.

Do any of you expects know if this extra copy of .NET is a risk or not ????

Many Thanks to you all

David
