We want to be able to set the default permissions on a
folder & all its subfolders so that users can CREATE
folders but they cannot MODIFY a folder (name or location
in the heirarchy)once it has been created.
Tried: Remove "Full Control" & "Modify" from NTFS Allow
list for the "Everyone" group.
Problem: If we right-click in a folder and create a new
sub-folder, the default name is "New Folder", however when
we try to give the folder another name we get "access
denied". I guess Windows actually creates the folder
called "New Folder" & then gives the user the opportunity
to rename the folder.
We can create folders from a DOS prompt & name them
whatever we like, but this isn't a viable workaround.
Is there a way to accomplish this & still allow folder
creation from Windows Explorer?
