Custom fields are not updated in a folder's view

Hi all
I have an odd proble
I've created a custom task form with custom fields which works fin
the problem is that when I add the custom fields to be shown in the view they are no
updated when I change the value of the field inside the for
the field is a yes/no field and when I check it in the view the checkbox inside the form is change
the opposite doesn't work i.e. when I check the checkbox inside the form the checkbox in the view is not update
the checkbox is bound to a custom property
by the way, a built in property does chang
Is there a way to force the view to refresh or update
or there is a different way to do it
