....bottom line is; if your server does have FP extensions...you now must have the host repair them (or if your server has a user control panel - uninstall/install the extensions yourself).
then you can start using the HTTP method of Publishing from FP.

| Hi, (Tom Pepper,Tom A Rowe)
|
| I am still having trouble with the placing of my custom
| counter
| created in Photoshop 6. saved as a 100x25pixels.gif
| (Divided by 10,
| so it should be good) into "my pictures" imported to
| frontpage>images
|
| I go throu the "insert, web componant, hitcounter,
| finish, properties, click custom button, add address
| (/images/counter.gif), click ok, [hit counter]
| appears on design page, save. I then use my CuteFTP 6
| client to
| publish my new index.htm and my counter.gif (which
| is still in images). cant see image on design/preview/or
| when i go to web browser. This seems to be the norm,
| (only to seeing
| the image when uploaded, which I am not)
|
| On my web it has the red x and the available space for
| counter. My host server says the frontpage exts. are
| enabled.
|
| As on another post it said "The hit counter requires
| FrontPage extensions
| and to publish to a server with extensions you can't
| use ftp:// you *must* use
http://websitename.com, which
| i have tried,
| but does not work. I have tried FrontPage>click File
| >Publish Web...
| For the publish location I enter
http://websitename.com
| and click OK.
| does not work.
|
| Another poster said "the relative path to the custom
| image may be incorrect"
| when I "insert, web componant, hitcounter,
| finish, properties, click custom button, add address
| (/images/counter.gif), is this address not suitable?, do
| I have to put
| MyDocuments/MyWebSites/images/counter.gif (I have also
| done this)!!
|
| sorry for this ...
|
| Any Help wud be good!!
