Asus CUSL2-C

ATI 7200 in AGP slot
PCI 1 - empty
PCI 2 - empty
PCI 3 - Soundblaster Live 5.1
PCI 4 - Ethernet 10/100 card
PCI 5 - empty
PCI 6 - empty
CNR - empty

With the Ethernet card installed, boot time is excessively LONG!
With out this card this machine boots in about 30 seconds instead of 2 or 3
minutes.

Have tried NIC in slot 5 and slot 4 with same results. Sound card is in PCI
slot 3 and the manual says this slot is NOT SHARED with any other.

Any suggestions would be appreciated...

Shep, do you mean IRQ assignment?
The NIC in PCI slot 4 is set to IRQ 10 in BIOS.
Is this what you mean by a static address or do you mean a network address?
IP address?
The NIC is currently only being use to connect a DSL modem. There is no
network in place.

Your NIC is looking and looking for a DHCP-server without finding one. This
in order to get an IP.
Set static IP of your wish and you'll be fine.
