Cursor in Word document

Hello:
Does anyone know why a cursor would turn from vertical to horizontal in a
Word
document. Is there a keyboard shortcut that causes this to happen?

No. It's an occasional display glitch I've never seen adequately explained.
The solution is to change the zoom level. Just increasing it from 100 to 101
causes the cursor to go back to normal... you can then set it back to 100 if
working at 101 causes issues.
