Cursor w/timer or countdown?

Howdy,

An earlier post about a cursor with a clock has sent me on a search.
Windows includes a cursor with a 10-second timer on it while there's
background activity.

Has anyone ever seen a curson which does more than 10 seconds and is
configurable as either a timer (up from zero) or as countdown?
