I’ve been having this problem for almost a week now.. What happens is my
cursor stalls for I’d say about 3 seconds and then I hear a noise as if
something just minimized or maximized.. Nothing other then that seems to
happen but it’s starting to get me upset because I just got this computer no
more then a year ago and I hope this small problem doesn’t lead to anything
more drastic. Does anyone know what this problem is?

Something is running in the background. I'm sorry, but that's as
specific as I can be with so little information to go on. First make
sure the computer is completely virus/malware-free:

It is important that you are thorough in your scanning. If the computer
proves to be clean, then:

1. Look in Event Viewer for clues:
Start Orb>search box: eventvwr.msc [enter]

2. You can also look under Control Panel>Problem Reports and Solutions.

3. Do clean-boot troubleshooting to determine what is running in the
background:

unplug your mouse wait a minute or so and plug it back in.
this should allow windows to refresh the drivers for it.

if does not help.
go into device manager and uninstall the mouse.
shut down/power off the computer, wait 3-5 minutes and turn it back on.
allow windows to find and install the drivers for the device again.
