sometimes they are
highly sensitive and
as your typing away,
you may be actually
making contact with
the mousepad.
the other possibility is
that you are running short
on memory 'or' the cpu
is in overdrive in the
background.
but there is also a possibility
that there is defective hardware
involved too, since it is not
uncommon that a china made
component become faulty.
you might want to double
check the homesite and see
if there is an updated driver
and perhaps simply reinstall
it onto your machine.

check your mouse driver
interrupt and see if there
is another component sharing
the interrupt for the mouse.
if so, then switch it to a different
one.
also perhaps set the mouse
pad to be less sensitive.
as a test you might want
to disable it temporarily
while typing a document
to see if the issue has ceased.
keep in mind that most
mouse clicks can be substituted
by keyboard keys, so use them
while testing the computer
while the mouse is disabled.
also, you might want to disable
altogether the mouse pad and
use a usb mouse instead.
for me i find it very comfortable
to attach a usb keyboard as well,
thus bypassing the laptop kb
and mouse pad altogether.

another test is to go into
safemode with networking
and see if the issue ceases
in that mode as well.
msoffice and the internet
is made available in the
safemode w/networking
option.
