Cursor hangs on "send to"

When I right click on a folder and move the cursor down it hangs for a
second or two on "send to".
There's 8 options in the drop box that opens.

When I go to C:\Documents and Settings\MY user name\SendTo there's
only 4 options there.
When I go to C:\Documents and Settings\DEFAULTuser\SendTo there's
only 3 options there.

Can someone tell me:
1) How to fix the hanging?
2) Why the difference (3 vs 4 vs 8 shortcuts)?

Depends on what is actually on your Send To menu.

For one thing, Send To
3 1/2 Floppy (A or Removable Disk or a CD burner are not listed in any
SendTo folder.

By default, the Send To menu in Windows XP lists the following commands
(destinations):
* Compressed (zipped) Folder
* Desktop (create shortcut)
* Mail Recipient
* My Documents
* 3 1/2 Floppy (A
* CD Drive

See these...

Right-click is slow or weird behavior caused by context menu handlers

Right-click is extremely slow only when Network is enabled

How can I remove some of the options? (8 is too many.)

On my start menu"
* Compressed (zipped) Folder
* Desktop (create shortcut)
* Mail Recipient
* My Documents
* 3 1/2 Floppy (A
* CD Drive
PLUS
*External Disk E
*External Disk F

When I disconnect the external drives the menu options are gone but
the cursor still hangs on "send to".

I doubt that the removable drives are the problem. But if you want to...

Hide the removable drives from the Send To menu

You need to download, install and run ShellExView.

See
Method 2 - Using ShellExView to determine the Context-menu causing the
problem
here
Right-click is slow or weird behavior caused by context menu handlers
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/slowrightclick.htm

There is a link there for NirSoft's ShellExView page.

Any chance that the "My Documents" folder for your user profile is relocated to a network share?

How do I check if the "My Documents" folder for your user profile is

OK, I downloaded ShellExView and opened it.

I tried disabling ALL the "Context Menus" at once and it still hung on
"Sent To"
Does it take a reboot for disable to take effect?

More suggestions please?
