Here is the simple steps:
1. Open new powerpoint file.
2. Goto pulldown menu Insert, Object browse to Micorsoft Excel Worksheet.
3. Goto Cell A1 and Type "=Now()" click outside the powerpoint.
4. If you wish to getrid of the gridlines grab the lower right hand corner of
the worksheet and let Cell A1 only showing.
