Current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request

Every time I log on I get a pop up message to say that the current mail client cannot fulfil the messaging request and to run microsoft outlook and set it as the default mail client.

I have already set it as the default mail client and don't know what to try next, but i am sick of the message popping every time i log on.

Anyone any ideas on how to get rid of it?
