I prefer Sygate Personal firewall,

But the following firewalls also seem to be quite good:
Jetico Personal Firewall 1.0 ( http://www.jetico.com/jpfirewall.htm )
Kerio Personal Firewall 4.1.2 ( http://www.kerio.com/kpf_download.html )
Or more prefered by some: the 2.15 version (
http://www.kerio.com/dwn/kpf2-en-win.exe )
Securepoint PCFirewall 3.6 (
http://www.securepoint.de/de/products-pcfirewall.html )
SoftPerfect Personal firewall 1.4 (
http://www.softperfect.com/products/firewall/ )
Sygate Personal Firewall 5.5 ( http://smb.sygate.com/free/default.php )
ZoneAlarm 5.5.062.004 (
http://www.zonelabs.com/store/conten...eeDownload.jsp )

Me too.

Beta version, many problems.

Buggy garbage. Don't waste your time. It slowed my browsing by half. Many
bad stories on their forum, as well as in comp.security.firewalls

Has an identified vulnerability with malformed packets.

You'll only find version 5.6 there, which some people have had major
problems with. You can get a late build of 5.5 here:

I guess it's OK if you don't care about port control, and don't want to
know what's going on in the background.

Linux 2.4.x netfilter (configured via iptables). Very configurable, and
most importantly runs on a separate PC. Your firewall really should be
running on a separate system, not loaded as an application.

It's no longer beta. 1.0 was released recently. Some have reported
problems, but I've never had any on a Win2k setup here.. Proceed with
caution however...
