CTRL Key Troubleshooting

Ive run into a problem utilizing the control key with internet explorer 7.
When I access webpages and attempt select multiple items using the control
key + the left click button on the mouse, a new webpage pops up. Usually I
was able to select multiple items with the control key and the left click
button. Anyone have any idea what driver I can download to fix this problem.
