We installed new DEll equipment with XP Pro and now when
the operater depresses the ctrl key shadows everything
instead of specified items. Is there a way to correct
this problem?

Try removing the keyboard from Device Manager and rebooting. To do
this, click Start-Run-Type devmgmt.msc and click OK. Now click the +
next to the Keyboard and right click on your keyboard and uninstall it.
Now reboot and pray it works.
