I'm developing a website for IE and I have a log file
that is a .csv file that is linked to for download.
However, when it is downloaded and selected to save NOT
open, it saves it as a .xls file. I need it to download
as a csv file. But if you select open, it opens it in
excel as a csv file and allows you save as a csv. Also,
when the path to the file is typed in the Address Bar
instead of clicking on a link, the dialogue box that asks
you to save or open pops up, but either choices leads to
an error saying it can't open or save the file. Which is
odd because the file IS there and perfectly fine but will
only download if you click a link. I know this is a
browser issue because everything I just described works
perfectly in Firefox. Any solutions or suggestions would
be much appreciated. Thanks so much.
