Brand new HDD, new Mother board (FIC VC-15) new processor (P4-2Ghz) freshly
loaded, never been on the net. The process called "csrss.exe" jumps around,
up to 100% of the cpu and everything bogs down to a stop until some cpu
becomes available again. It is rather constant from boot up or reboot.
Are there any settings in Windows 2000 that will give me a chance to
reduce the time csrss.exe uses the cpu?
I need help on this one..........Thanks

You can always set Indexing Service to start manually or just turn it off. Start | Search | For Files and Folders... | Search Options | Indexing Service | Do not enable Indexing Service.

I believe this is a Microsoft Office 2000 SP1 issue.
